Meet Jennifer

“You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.”
Maya Angelou
I have had a passion for working with children ever since I was a camp counselor in high school. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and my graduate degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Florida International University. I have been working with children on the autism spectrum since 2004.
I have worked as a paraprofessional in schools, in multidisciplinary clinical settings, and have trained teachers in the classroom providing behavior analytic interventions. My wide range of experience has helped me effectively lead a team of behavior analysts and technicians, consult and create programs for clients, and work with parents and families to enable successful programs.
I started Shine Bright Therapy in 2010, wanting to use my skills and passion to work with parents and families of children with developmental delays. I had a desire to deliver professional and ethical services, which I found lacking in my community. I have effectively run a multidisciplinary company for over 10 years, overseeing the development of the children I serve ensuring that they are supported, engaged, and challenged.
In 2017, I volunteered for the Global Autism Project and traveled to Jakarta, Indonesia to use my skills to train teachers to create meaningful programs and outcomes for their students. This opportunity made me aware that there were still communities that were missing these essential services.
After moving to Key Largo in 2019, I became aware of the limited resources available to families in the Florida Keys. Wanting to be a source of support in the community, and to continue my mission to deliver effective and ethical services, I extended services to families in the Florida Keys.
I am constantly striving to improve the quality of my work and to find inspiration to fall in love with my career everyday. My most recent milestone was completing the examination requirements to become an Exceptional Student Education teacher. I provide academic support to families who are looking for a more individualized and customized approach when it comes to the education of their child.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Borr, Owner, M.S., BCBA
